La Foce is one of those rare places that actually feels like a movie set. Nestled right in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, this historic estate offers everything you dream of when planning a destination wedding in Italy. We are talking about manicured Italian gardens, that iconic winding cypress road, and a view that stretches for miles.
As a wedding photographer, I see a lot of beautiful venues, but a La Foce wedding is on another level. It combines that relaxed Tuscan vibe with serious elegance. From the quiet morning moments in the villa to the golden light hitting the stone walls during cocktail hour, the light here is just perfection. If you want a setting that feels both grand and intimate, this is it.
This La Foce wedding was the perfect example of why I love my job. The energy was incredible from the very start. The day began inside the main villa where the couple got ready. There was no stress, just good music, champagne, and that buzz of excitement that builds up before the ceremony. The rooms at La Foce have this beautiful, soft window light that makes getting-ready photos look effortlessly editorial. It was all about capturing those small, honest moments between the bride and her closest friends before the madness of the day began.
The ceremony took place in the famous Italian gardens at La Foce, in the Val d’Orcia in Tuscany, Italy. If you have seen photos of a La Foce wedding, you know exactly the spot I mean, the elegant lines of the garden, the clipped greenery, and that wide open countryside view behind it. Guests took their seats along the gravel paths, surrounded by sculpted hedges and citrus trees, with the rolling hills stretching out in every direction. It felt calm and cinematic at the same time, like the venue was doing half the work for us. This is a wedding venue from a movie, you and your guest will love it.
When the bride walked down the aisle, everything went quiet in the best way. The vows were emotional and raw, and the garden made it feel intimate even with a full group of guests. After the ceremony, we stayed in the gardens for a few minutes for portraits, just letting them breathe it all in. Those first moments as a married couple, in that light, in that setting, are exactly why La Foce is such a dream venue.
After the "I dos" were said, the vibe shifted immediately to celebration. We moved to the terrace for the aperitivo. This is my favorite time of day to shoot because the Tuscan sun starts to dip, covering everything in a warm, golden glow. Guests enjoyed their Spritzes and local bites while soaking in the view of the valley. We stole the couple away for ten minutes to take some portraits in the gardens. We didn't need to pose much because the setting did all the work. We just let them walk, laugh, and enjoy that "just married" feeling while I snapped away.
Dinner was served alfresco in the courtyard under strings of fairy lights. It was pure magic. Two long imperial tables were set up, beautifully styled by FlowersLiving. The florals were elegant and organic, perfectly matching the green and terracotta tones of the venue. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, filled with the sound of clinking glasses and laughter. It felt less like a formal event and more like a big family dinner, just way more stylish.
As the night went on, the speeches brought the house down. There were stories that made everyone cry and others that had the whole table roaring with laughter. It is moments like these that make a wedding film or album feel real. We aren't just taking pictures of decorations. We are documenting the connection between people.
The party kicked off under the stars, and let me tell you, this crowd knew how to dance. It was the perfect end to a flawless day. A huge shoutout to The Travelling Wedding Planner, who made sure the entire event ran seamlessly. When you have a team this good, the couple can actually relax and be present, which makes for the best photos.
La Foce has a way of making every part of the day feel cinematic. If you are planning your own La Foce wedding in Tuscany, I would love to be there to capture it. Let’s create something timeless together.
