Chateau de Mirwart Wedding

As a wedding photographer, I see many venues across Europe, but Chateau de Mirwart is special. Located in the Luxembourg province, this castle respects its history while offering the comfort modern couples want.
The atmosphere here is unique. From the impressive courtyard for welcome drinks to the grand halls for dinner, every corner is photogenic. For Sophie and Chan, the venue was versatile enough to host loud, fun Chinese door games in the morning and then transform into a quiet, romantic setting for their Western ceremony in the afternoon. The light is also incredible. The bridal suites have large windows that let in soft, natural light for portraits, while the grounds outside offer dramatic landscapes for couple photos.

GETTING MARRIED AT CHATEAU DE MIRWART

The day started with high energy. Honoring their heritage, Sophie and Chan began with traditional Chinese door games. This is a fun tradition where the bridesmaids set challenges for the groom before he can see his bride. Laughter filled the castle halls as Chan proved his love. After the games, they held an emotional tea ceremony to pay respect to their families.
Then, the mood shifted to quiet elegance. Sophie changed into a stunning white gown, complete with Jimmy Choo shoes and jewelry by Schroeder 1877. The European-style ceremony took place on the castle grounds, surrounded by the green forest of the Ardennes. It was a simple, moving exchange of vows. Walking down the aisle on the castle terrace, Sophie looked breathtaking against the wide view of the Lomme Valley. The ceremony was intimate and personal, filled with tears and laughter as they shared their vows. It was a perfect contrast to the energetic games in the morning. It was a moment of stillness and pure connection. 
In the evening, the party really started. The reception featured a huge surprise: a traditional Chinese Lion Dance by Tit Ngau Kuen. The drums and the acrobatic movements of the lions brought an amazing energy to the room that captivated every guest. Dinner was served by Steffen Traiteur, known for their fine dining, followed by a party that lasted late into the night with music by DJ Chiqa. Every detail, from the flowers by La Bâtisse Florals to the furniture by Thiribut Events, fit the castle’s majestic style perfectly.
Capturing this wedding at Chateau de Mirwart was a privilege. It was a day where tradition, style, and real emotion came together perfectly.
