One of the weddings that I had the honor of photographing was the one of this lovely couple who chose to tie the knot in Altea, a hidden gem on the Mediterranean coast. Altea is a perfect destination for a romantic and intimate wedding, as it offers a breathtaking scenery of the sea, the mountains, and the whitewashed houses with blue domes that dot the hillside. Altea is also rich in culture and history, with a medieval old town, a fortified church, and a lively artistic scene.
The couple and their guests came from different parts of Europe, but they all felt at home in Altea, where the couple has a second residence. They wanted their wedding to reflect their love for this place and their appreciation for their family and friends who joined them on this special occasion.
The wedding day started at the couple’s own home, where they had a relaxing and fun time getting ready with their closest ones. They shared some laughs, some tears, and some champagne, before heading to the church for the ceremony. The church of Altea is a stunning landmark that dominates the skyline of the town. It has two large blue domes with white trimmings that contrast with the azure sky. The church is a mixture of old and new, as it was built on the ruins of a Moorish temple. The interior is decorated in a neo-baroque style, with ornate altars, paintings, and sculptures. The couple exchanged their vows in front of the altar, surrounded by the beauty and the history of the church.
After the ceremony, the couple and their guests moved to their wedding venue Finca  for the reception. The venue was a gorgeous villa with a spacious garden, overlooking the sea and the mountains. The bridal couple had chosen a rustic and elegant theme for their decoration, with white flowers, candles, and wooden elements. They also added some personal touches, such as photos of their travels, their favorite quotes, and their initials. The reception was a celebration of love, joy, and friendship. The guests enjoyed some delicious food and drinks, while listening to some live music that created a festive atmosphere. The highlight of the evening was the dinner under the stars, where the couple and their guests shared some heartfelt speeches, some toasts, and some cake. The party continued until late, with a stunning live band that made everyone dance.
