There’s something about elopements that just hits different. Less noise, more meaning, and space to actually feel every moment. Gabrielle and Austin’s day in Switzerland was exactly that. romantic, calm, and full of little experiences they will remember forever.
They chose St. Charles Hall in Meggen, a stunning villa above Lake Lucerne that feels elegant the second you arrive. The venue has this timeless, classic look, and the terrace is known for its panoramic views over Lake Lucerne and the mountains. The park around the villa is also beautiful and full of character, with old trees, sculptures, and little details like stairs, archways and ponds that make portraits feel interesting without trying too hard.
Before anything else, Gabrielle and Austin wanted a quiet moment together. They did their first look and a private vow exchange at St. Charles Hall in Meggen, a beautiful villa setting above Lake Lucerne that already feels special the second you arrive. The mix of elegant architecture, terraces with open views, and the surrounding park and gardens makes it such an easy place to create timeless images without forcing anything.
We also gave ourselves a full two hours for the photoshoot, and that changed everything. No rushing, no “quick, quick” energy, just time to breathe, walk around the grounds, and shoot in a really relaxed way. St. Charles Hall is perfect for this because you can move from one look to the next within a few steps, gardens, paths, quiet corners, then back to the villa, and every spot still feels like Lake Lucerne. The light around the villa and the greenery stays soft and flattering, so it all felt gentle and cinematic, but still real.
After we captured those first moments, they continued their elopement with something that felt like them, an adventure. Lake Lucerne is one of the most romantic backdrops you can choose in Switzerland, and stepping onto a private boat together gave them time to breathe and enjoy it all. They headed toward Hotel Vitznauerhof, a beautiful lakeside hotel right on Lake Lucerne, and from there the day shifted into that “we can’t believe this is real” feeling. Just the two of them, the water, the mountains, and the kind of calm you only get when you keep things small and intentional.
If you’re dreaming of a destination elopement in Switzerland, this is your sign that you don’t need a huge guest list to make it feel luxurious and unforgettable. Choose one iconic venue, add one special experience, and build the day around what matters to you. St. Charles Hall and Lake Lucerne are perfect for exactly that kind of wedding.
